  The Foolish Thief Story with Moral

         Once upon a time, there was a foolish thief who wanted to steal from a wealthy merchant. He planned to sneak into the merchant's house at night and steal as much as he could carry.

On the night of the robbery, the thief entered the merchant's house and began to fill his sack with gold and silver. But as he was leaving the house, he tripped over a pot and made a loud noise. The merchant, who was awake, heard the noise and came to investigate.

The thief, who was too foolish to think clearly, tried to escape by jumping out of a window. But he landed in a pile of manure and became covered in filth. The merchant, who had followed him, recognized the thief and took him to the authorities.

The thief was sentenced to prison, and as he sat in his cell, he realized that his greed and foolishness had caused him to lose his freedom.

Moral of the story:

         "Greed leads to foolishness and regret."
